Twitter-mania gets more and more into public, but in my opinion it sucks as well as facebook. Why? Because you are force to do something, anything to be cool, to go with the mainstream society. And as for Twitter goes if you are following somebody, and you aren't checking that every single day, you will simply get flooded with the tweets. You might eventually go crazy about that. So I just once stopped visiting Twitter and since that time I'm free. I am not attached to that anymore. And you know what? The life is still going on and I enjoy and put energy into more important things. But that's just me. You know, it is good if you try it. You get excited, you wanna do more and more, and get stressed out, until one day it won't be under control, and eventually you get rid of it and sick of it. :) At least you get a great experience of that.
