International Investing Blog

I’ve always been really into investing. My dad and I used to talk about it a lot even when I was 8 years old. I find it very interesting. I find most of the stuff written about financial advice is just pure garbage. I just made some big trades today, at least for me. I really like Apple, Google, and Starbucks. I think the developing world is going to keep doing well with more and more people going into the middle class and buying stuff. Google is a whole other story as to why I like it. It dropped about 5% on the big Motorola trade because people got scared. I don’t think any analyst even knows if it was smart or not yet. I am writing a financial blog that I thought some of you might be interested in. It’s higher level English, and I don’t allow for comments yet, because of spam. We will soon though. I think most people are sheep. That means they can’t think for themselves and follow the crowd without thinking. I call the blog, “land of sheep”. Add made the cartoon sheep. You can comment here if you read it. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Here it is: International Investing Advice

We’re going to change the design and make it look sweet in the future. You guys are the first ones to know who is writing it!

Thank you for sharing this blog. I like it very much. It’s higher English, plus Investment articles, plus some mean outrageous ideas but also hilarious to read.

  2. Dark Chocolate Says:

I am very envious to hear you learned about investing at an early age. You guys are lucky people in many ways.

  3. Faramarz Says:

It’s good that you’ve drawn us a sheep.I hope you don’t mind a little challenge as I’m the outspoken type )) Your blog was shorter than usual! Moreover, I’m still a little unclear about which part was mysteriously higher English?? I think that one is yet to come and this one was the lull before the storm. With all due respect, your input was kind of repetitive. I’ve heard similar thinking from you elsewhere. Who has not been thinking about investment? It seems to me that most people invest in the wrong thing for all the right reasons. The loaded question is that WHY some act like a sheep, even at times those with a reputable education in their pockets show poor judgements! Would you discuss some of the factors that take our initiatives away? and do we really want to only have leaders and no sheeps for that matter in our societies?? The reason that your business thrives is that others are dependent on your lessons. Hence, buying and listening to you. Since your mentality is the abundance mentality type , which means that there is enough room for everyone to be successful, and your intentions are for the most part pure the sincerity is heard in your voices. Some might say that leads to pandemonium, to consciously play a second fiddle to others. I hope you’d excuse my ignorance, if my writing isn’t organized or up to the mark or you see flaws in my words. It’s composed extemporaneously and way late at night )) Thanks for reading and your time

I think land of sheep blog needs sense of humor. It’s obviously some users don’t have it.

  5. china232 Says:

    Hi Faramarz,

Thanks for your comment. I don’t understand exactly what you are talking about to be honest. There seems to be some misunderstandings. I’m certainly not calling our China232 fans “sheep”. land of sheep is not directly for this audience unless some people happen to like it. The “higher level” English is just the way I would write to native speakers. I really didn’t mean anything by that comment. The whole blog is targeted mainly at American native English speakers who have an interest in investing. I just figured I’d mention about it on facebook in case some people here are interested. It is completely separate from China232.

My goal is to give some of my opinions about investing for anyone interested. I’m not trying to figure out why people are sheep. I’m more interested in whether or not the stock price of Google will go up or not. It’s things like that I want to write about there.

I’m a bit confused about the statement, “the reason my business thrives is that others are dependent on my lessons”. You mean the VIP lessons at china232? It’s the only way we can earn enough money to live. To be honest, I have much better business ideas than this but I love this group and Add and I enjoy making the show and we plan to continue it.

Everyone needs money to live. Even guys like Add and I need to pay for rent and food just like normal people. Everyone earns money at their jobs in real life. This is our job in real life. If we made it free we’d have to stop the show and do something else in life full time. We tried it totally free and from advertising in the beginning and it just didn’t work for us.

  6. Mis(s)Understanding Says:

I like land of sheep very much, even more than this blog. I also have some personal stories in which some people in my life acted like sheep. I hope I will have the chance to share them someday.

  7. Mis(s)Understanding Says:

    or maybe not.

  8. Faramarz Says:

Good! We don’t seem to be on the same wavelength. I think I didn’t express myself well enough. Keep up the good work. You’ll see more of my posts. I’ll do try to avoid confusing you))

  9. Sara Says:

Dear Andy thanks for letting us know about your new site.It is interesting for many of us and for sure we will share many things and will learn a lot from it.

about the Framarz comment as regarding to his name he should be Iranian,I have to tell that you misunderstood him.let me inform you that from the way he writes I can guess that he is a clever and a well-educated person .and if it wasn’t for it that he likes you he wouldn’t take time to read your blog and write here.and from his statement in his previous comment:”and your intentions are for the most part pure the sincerity is heard in your voices” you can get that you misunderstood him.he will tell us more in future.maybe only as he is from my country I felt that I should take his side!and write some things here.hopefully it won’t annoy him.

  10. An Insignificat Online Character Says:

I think you did a good thing when you decided to delete the old entries on landofsheep blog. Those old entries were almost incompatible with a serious topic like investing. However, I am also glad that I had the chance to read those old entries. They put you in a different light, not necessarily a positive one. I always like to know all angles of a picture. Those old entries were so different on how you “sound” on this blog and on FB. I know very well how the perception distorts when you talk to someone via written messages but on those old entries you sounded smart, articulate, hilarious, edgy but also cocky,a bit misogynistic, shallow, maybe arrogant, irrational. The type of person that I wouldn’t bother to know more about…I hope you don’t take these comments the wrong way. On this blog and FB you sound reasonable, smart, poised, open-minded, mature, though aloof at times but also pleasant and warm person in a dialogue. I know that any intelligent individual realizes that the real person can be very different from an online nickname or virtual character. We like it or not, we are only characters on Internet, with or without pictures or videos. Nevertheless, I’ve always liked online characters, they are much more interesting, less predictable, and less invasive than the real people.

With regard to some of your ideas on http://www.landofsheep.com, I have some comments. One of them would be that the number of cell phones and IPhones in China and India are symbols of booming middle class. I am not really sure if these items can be considered an authentic status symbol. I remember distinctly when I lived in a developing country(I’m not sure if that country is still considered a developing country, I saw conflicting info): everyone, including high-school students had cell phone even though they couldn’t afford anything else. The economy of that country I’m talking about is not booming. A car can be something more expensive that not anyone can afford and furthermore, a house. I am not saying that the economy of India and China are growing. I just want to say that cell phones, IPhones, and IPads might be a sign of booming middle class in some countries but it’s not enough to take them very seriously.

  11. Mis(s)Understanding Says:

aren’t you tired of miscommunication and misinterpreting? I am.

  12. china232 Says:

    Lol, Hi Mis(s)Understanding.

I totally agree. I’m super tired of misunderstandings!

And to “An Insignificant online character”, those old entries on landofsheep were not me. That’s why I deleted them. I decided to turn it into a financial blog last week. The old entries were an experiment to see if someone could cause an emotional response through writing. I guess it did. They weren’t my real opinions at all and never were. Pretty funny. And yes, they didn’t make any sense as in investment blog. At that time, it was just a website we owned and did some experiments with.

  13. Faramarz Says:

Thanks Sara for showing your heartwarming support. On the main page of China 232 I cleared up the confusion. My sole intention is to learn and activate my brain by thinking out of the box. As I speak my mind, I want you to voice your opinion without trepidation. No need to spare my feelings )) Don’t be just a listener. I don’t want you to side with me because of the fact that we are countrymen. If you think sb is in the right, you should back them up. Have a nice one!

  14. An Insignificant Online Character Says:

Thanks for letting me know more about the purpose of the deleted blogs on landofsheep. Believe or not, I liked some of those entries. some entries were a bit of a challenge for me to read but they were also very interesting, intriguing. those deleted topics were a part of an interesting character I’ve been following for a while. I was wondering if it would be a big problem to get those deleted blogs. If I had known they would have disappeared, I would’ve saved them. I’d love to have the copies…

  15. Sara Says:

Dear Faramarz ,I agree that we should put aside many of these countrymen kind things especially when we are in an international group .but connections are somethings that exist however hard you try to ignore them.
I have found so many interesting things in China232 .as a fact I love the way they think and work,I am sure that they too don’t want us as only a listener but also have always asked about our opinion.hopefully you will love & enjoy it as I do.wish U the best.

  16. An Interesting Online Character Says:

reason: they were very well written and I didn’t have the chance to digest all angles of the idea. you are a versatile blogger. plus, some of those topics like with hangover has practically helpful :)

  17. Mehdi Says:

    Hi China232,

I always wonder what the level of my English is. I was no longer happy with my skill in read your blogs here. I use to say myself that these writings are not real English and much lower than standard. I can’t stand that you simplify your language for us and I feel that I’m deceived!!

But now with your new website I feel much better, even though I’m not interested in the subject. I feel much more confident now.

  18. Alannah Says:

Hello Mehdi, I live in an English country for about a decade. I still learn from this particular blog. It’s one of the best I’ve ever read. What you see on this blog is not only a very real English but also it is also a well-written English. Moreover, the author approached a wide range of topics in a very smart and objective manner. You shouldn’t doubt about the level of this blog: it’s upper intermediate to advanced.

  19. Mehdi Says:

    Hello hear Alannah

Reallyyyy?? It is very real English? So, I’m not very bad with English. I have always this question from ADD and Andey that how they can write such smoothly and beautifully without using even a difficult word!
To be honest, I tried to mimic their style of their writing and even sometimes I analyzed the structures :) )

Thank you Alannah for your nice comment, I gives me a glimmer of hope.

  25. John Mauney Says:

International Investment Blog? Currently, many believe there will be radical changes in the use of the U.S. dollar as the world’s currency. China has forecast that the Renmembi will replace the “dollar”. Gold has understandably attracted a great many investors, but these type of investments flourish when economic turmoil abounds. As a retired attorney having represented the 1% of high end net worth clientele, I am often asked …where do I safely place my retirement savings?
Investments are made each and every day in everything we feel, touch or smell and all have records of providing returns on those investments, but the inevitable question remains; to what end? Ask yourself this question. When the investment returns are realized, what next? When and how do you stop. How do you retain what you have earned? Many of us enjoyed tremendous growth in our investments in the first part of this century but had no plan in place to “hold onto it”.
Like it or not, the world has changed. There are answers.
I wish everyone the best in obtaining great wealth and recognize this forum to have all the potential required to energize great debate. At sometime in the future I suggest a discussion be initiated designed to address the question posed above. What then?

  31. Fawn Mcconnal Says:

Our Federal Govt. is operating so far outside of its design parameters that this type of discussion is now futile. IMO the place to begin is eliminating income tax which would force massive reductions in power and programs, bringing the govt. more in line with the founders structure. Only then can a discussion vis-a-vis federal and state govts. become worthwhile.

  32. Wilburn Recek Says:

Thanks for your concepts. One thing I’ve noticed is that often banks and also financial institutions are aware of the spending behaviors of consumers and as well understand that plenty of people max outside their credit cards around the holidays. They smartly take advantage of that fact and begin flooding your current inbox and snail-mail box with hundreds of no-interest APR card offers shortly after the holiday season closes. Knowing that for anyone who is like 98% of the American community, you’ll hop at the opportunity to consolidate credit card debt and switch balances towards 0 APR credit cards.

Its good to know that you’ve been interesting with investing when you’re still young. I think that’s how really a parent should do when their children were still young. Truly inspiring that until now you carry out that interest you had when you’re still a kid,
