Email Experiment

Hey guys,

Please let me use you as my little “Guinea Pigs”.  A “Guinea Pig” is a slang term meaning “person taking part in an experiment”.

Here is an example.  “I don’t want to be a guinea pig for that new heart medicine.  I don’t care how much money they give me.”

I just want an honest answer.  Sometimes it’s hard to be totally honest, even with ourselves.  Sometimes we don’t even know the real truth, but please try to answer me as best you can.  I hope to read over 200 comments.  I don’t care about grammar.  Just try your best.  This is no guilt.  This is to help everyone.

It is so hard to get someone’s trust online.  Even in the real world, it’s hard to get trust.  We’ve all been cheated so many times.  I know people that say they don’t even trust their own family.  That is shocking to me, but I’ve heard it many times.

Anyway, I’m asking for your trust.  I know I need to deserve it and I can be patient.  You probably have some opinion of me already.

You know that I send out emails.  I get a lot of people writing back to me.  Of course, most people don’t reply to any email like that.  They either read it or just delete it.  We do have a pretty big and fast growing email list and I’m very curious to hear some opinions.

What is the first thought that pops into your head when I send an email?  Do you believe I honestly care about your English? (I really do by the way).  Am I just some guy trying to make money like everyone else?  Do you learn from the email?  Do you share it with your friends?  Should I write more often, less, or the same amount?  Should I change anything about the email?  Is each email too long, too short?

I guess that maybe you got an email from me, read it, and came here from the email link.   Am I right?  Why did you do that?  Do you usually do the same when I send an email?  Do you ever come to the blog by yourself just to see if I wrote something new?

Guys, this is huge for me.  Here’s a little secret, if I can get a large enough number of people reading my blog, I want to write a book one day.  I need to hear from you.  The thing is, I want to write a book in English for everyone.  I hate translations.  Most native writers use big and weird words.  I want to use some kind of international style that I made up and communicate some important ideas for us all to share.

I don’t want to write a book for money.  I know book writing is generally more of a passion than a money maker.  Very few authors earn much.  I just want passion again for my life.  I need your help and opinions.  It’s hard for me to imagine my own emails and image.  What can I do to help you more?  What can I do to make things more interesting?  I want to be better for you guys.

Deep down my heart I beleive that you couldn’t possibly get tired of doing something that you love doing that. If you take a look at the number of fans and email lists as you mentioned, you can figure out that the first thing can pop into china232 club members mind, in general is something positive. Again it shows that the readers are not out of it and indeed there is a very special kind of sparkle here for all of us. That’s all from my part.

  2. Gosina Says:

I’m always so excited to get an email from you because it puts a smile on my face. In yr. latest podcast you talked about a sitcom called Two and a half Men and I ordered the first session on Saturday, received in on Monday and watched all 4 DVDs by now. So you asking me for trust!? You have my trust completely. The sitcom is so hilarious. I was laughing so much. Thank you for your tip. I’ve recommended it to my brother and my nephew and they told me they were watching this sitcom for years – unbelievable!!!
So if you want to write a book – please please do it! I’ll be your first customer – I promise you! I think you’ve been very gifted, so go on. Wish you all the best!

  3. TT Says:

    Hi guys,
I am really crazy about your podcasts. But, to be honest, hitting the books is not my cup of tea. I’d rather listen to the news on radio.

  4. Valerie Says:

If a person don’t read the books, it’s really the sad story and I personally think that there is nothing to speak about with this kind of person. That’s pathetic, because they know about life only from their own small experience, whereas in the books you learn about the hundreds of people, lives and experiences. So I want people to read and the amount of intelligent people to increase.:) So this idea of writing a book is amazing. I think that the person, who can think out of the box, definitely should or even ought to share his/her ideas, thoughts, knowledge and experience with outer world. So go ahead, I believe in your talent, I simply believe that the person can do everything if he/she really wants to.
Especially I liked your idea about the international style, there are so few such the things, so it would be great.
I myself worked as a writer for the local newspaper. I really enjoyed it. But unfortunately there was the situation in my life that disappointed me in this profession. I just wanted to say that in order to write a talented book you need a passion, and it’s important to not lose it on the way…

  5. Andy Says:

Thanks for the support guys. I really appreciate it and I will make a book for sure. I have a few things I’d like to do first, but it’s great to know there is some interest. Money is certainly NOT a goal of my writing. I just want to make a small difference in this world and get people thinking. I want to make sure that people at least read my stuff. Unfortunately, in this world, there are SO MANY books and the hard part is just getting people to know who you are. I need a bigger “fan following” so that publishers will be excited to work with me… I’m working on it.

  6. TT Says:

Take it easy honey. I dont know how many books you’ve read so far but from what you’ve said I have a doubt about your view. There is no point in arguing with you. Dont take this the wrong way but you need to read more “right books” to catch on. Stuffs in your country did not help you to figure out why Western look at CCCP that way in 80′s, 90′s. Russian always are great but they were victim of communist like us at that point.
Pls dont fall into judging in this friendly blog. People have their own point and no one asks for others’ opinion around here.
We are here because we are friends of And and Add, we got emails from them and hang around here with the main purpose involved english and that’s it. It’s been hard enough at work, let’s take it easy being in this site.
Once again, I am really crazy about your stuffs, Best.
    Have a great weekend guys!

  7. Valerie Says:

If those times were so bad, why things didn’t change to better direction now when we have healthy and blooming capitalism and now everything in our countries are getting worse and worse. It seems it wasn’t the communism(socialism) that was a problem. So don’t blame the communists in all your problems. :) You know, there were more happy people then than now, unfortunately. Now people are “free”, but don’t know what to do with their freedom. I personally know a lot of people who was better living in that time before 1990 and I want to cry when I see this misery and pain in their eyes and I’d like to get time back in order to make them happy again.
So don’t tell me which books I should read, it’s not your place I guess. I know enough about this topic, I live in this country and I’m not a victim of propaganda, because all my life I’ve lived in “free” Russia, but it doesn’t make me very excited.

And please don’t write me the bad things. You’re a man. Or in your country it’s OK to offend women?

  8. Andy Says:

    Hey guys,

It’s great to see people are passionate about stuff and I always appreciate the comments. I’m sure you are both good people and there is really no need to continue arguing. I know it’s tempting, but I hope we can end this kind of thing peacefully. Most arguments come down to a misunderstanding on some level anyway and then people get emotional. It happens to me all the time. I just got back from a restaurant and went crazy on some staff because they kept forgetting what I ordered. I get angry when I’m hungry. Haha. Anyway, I hope we can all find the good in each other and focus on that.

  9. Antonio Says:

It’ll be really interesting if you write a book. I’d buy this one. Because your style is great and I think book will be interesting too )

  10. afra Says:

    Hi there,
I like reading your blogs, I think what you guys do is a great job. Having said that obiously as you mentioned that people don’t trust each other easily. In my opinion, you are 100% right. Seeing around the world, what we people can do for the power and money it is very hard to trust anyone. I listen to news and think that how on the earth those politicians (people) do such a nasty things to their own people or to human beings. They are the our leaders and they are the one who suppose to be the role model to us. Sadly, I have to say that the humankind is truning to a very cruel creature. They only think what they can benifit from you. I hope it makes a sense of it. But you two guys are people. Keep doing what you like.

  11. afra Says:

What I mean to say is you two guys are good people.

  12. Brian Says:

It is really cool when i receive a new email from you guys. I immediately begin to read it, no matter how long it is. I also check your blog time to time for new posts.
I think the most preventive issue in learning language is fear of using it. Many people read this blog (more than 11 or 12) and they care about what you say. But they are afraid of writing comments because of grammatical mistakes they make. I make grammatical mistakes too, but i’m not afraid anymore because you have brought a friendly place for us and i’m encouraging you to work on this issue.

god bless you two, keep going on!

  13. andy Says:

Hey guys, I’m just checking out some of the comments from a cool hotel in Seoul South Korea. I’m here until Friday. I love this city. (thanks for sharing by the way). The sushi is amazing here and Korea just seems like a really modern and cool place.

Brian, very interesting comment. I know about this fear of making a mistake that non native speakers have but thanks again for reminding me. I keep forgetting about it. Of course it’s easy for me to say “don’t worry about mistakes” but I know our brains don’t work that way.

One interesting thing that everyone needs to remember is that native English speakers hear and read “mistakes” all the time. We don’t even think about it to be honest. I think it’s because English is the “international language” and everyone is using it. These “mistakes” almost seem normal to me and you never need to feel judged. For other languages it is “relatively” unusual for someone to speak it as a second language. I know it happens but just not even close to the amount that it does in English.

I don’t like English competitions because it makes people feel like they could lose to someone else. This kind of feeling prevents people from even trying. The important thing is that people “compete with themselves”. The people who can face this fear are the ones who improve the most quickly. It makes sense and I’ve noticed it a lot in real life. I hope anyone reading this will think seriously about this and ask yourself “what are you really afraid of”?

  14. Alexander Mamtsev Says:

Hey, Andy! I have nothing to say except i’ve said many times before already in my previous comments. To be honest i want to tell you one thing. You and your brother have taught to study English really another way that i’ve never known before. I started to register more and more information out of native speakers’ speech, to improve my vocab and enrich it with new slang words and expressions, but more important thing is that you led the way into the realm of english studying that i was afraid to get into. This is the listening of native speakers at a native rate of speech. This was so huge. A month have passed since i started and i feel encouraged to move on with your podcasts and i’m going to start over listening them while i’m moving on at around vip45. That will be for consolidation.

To top it all i started promoting your show among my friends. As soon as there are the first results… well, i’ll keep you posted:)

  15. Alexander Mamtsev Says:

yeah, and keep it going with your mail. This is the same as the podcasts but i think it’s more personal. I mean it’s a pleasure to get the mail refered to you personally in a way :)

In my opinion this blog is more comfortable place to write comments than the facebook. Thanks for Two and a half men recommendation. Enjoying it, learning new phrases. That’s what i meant talking about the new way of english studying.

  16. andy Says:

    Alexander,

Thanks man. I don’t know what else to say. That all just sounds really awesome!

  17. Juan Marchant Says:

I think if you keep this way you’re gonna achieve everything you want and hope, until know you’ve got a lot of fans. Me for example, since a long time I’d choseen you… At first I didn’t know why, but then I’ve come to realice that it’s beacuse the honest and easy way you do all these things for us.

Thanks again and don’t stop please.!!

  18. Laura Says:

Hi guys, well to be honest with you…i really love your podcast, your email and now I really enjoy what you write in your blog. I think you are really interested in how I can improve my English. I appreciate all your effort and support on this is very important for me ’cause I learned all by myself I’ve had a teacher, all I’ve got is my desktop (with internet of course) and my mp4 where I listen my podcast. And finally for me, you are the best I fell you very close to me because of that. Thank you!

At the beginning I depended on your email but now I take the initiative to read your blog. It’s not only about English but your insights to many things (towards some weird but very agreeable phenomenon I’d say) happening in real life. The length and frequency (one from every one to two days) are perfect. I do learn and share with friends. Most importantly, I do feel your passion.

You are trusted because you’re trustworthy. People just know that.

  22. Kate Says:

When im opening your emails the first to come in my mind is that you are has a generous nature and its so rare to recieve today in nowadays something for free from someone. And you are doing it!!! God doesnt forget it for u! Because you are helping to a lot of people/ And topics of your letters have a good idea and intention. I love to read it always. Your words what you are using when you are writting are quite easy for understanding therfore its not hard for our brains to perceive it after hard working day. I mean to read your letters dont make me stress like another kind of lerning laungage. I hate study! Your periodical emails helps me to remember that i have to learn english and do it regularly.
Dont worry about the emails/ As for me, all is quite enough and good. Size is maintained.
“I guess that maybe you got an email from me, read it, and came here from the email link.” – yep! you’re right)) Im always trying to do this because i like to read what you have been writing. Im trying to read it aloud – its giving more effect.
I dont know what you have to do for be better. I like everything from u. Before i found you i always was trying to create methodics for my lerning english(because i hate study!). I spent a lot of time on the different websites with lerning games, i was trying to read english fairytails, to watch english laungage movies, to write short dictations… Iwas always trying to change change change kind of activity because everything in sometime become boring me. And your topics, emails, podcasts – NEVER!!!
Have you already patented your methodic? Why you guys dont have Nobel Prize till now))?!
Thanx a lot for your job or like u said your passion!!!
    Be healthy!!!
Thank God! Remember, God help you! Just believe!
    Take care!

I’ve just sent you an email back and I’m here now! For me, whenever I get your emails, I feel like you are my close foreign friend to be honest and that makes me happy. :) I cannot remember how I felt when I first read your email but I guess I might consider your email as an advertisement at the first time. I’m not the type of person who believes in others easily. However, while I’ve been reading your wonderful thoughts I became your big fan! I’m looking forward to read “the book” that you will write soon. :) One more thing, sending me an email is very useful to me, I read it and come here from the email link. Yes, you’re right. Hey, Andy!
Well, I’m exactly the one who usually reads your emails, reads your posts coming here by the link and then doesn’t comment anything. But if you want me to be honest and to answer your questions now, here am i. First of all i remember that it was really cool to find your lessons here. I’ve learned English for a long time at school, then at university but there was something wrong. And then, when i found your lessons it was fantastic! That was, what i needed. So, you guys are awesome! Your emails are great, because they are always very interesting and useful. I always read them and look forward to another one. I remember that i was pretty excited when i got your first email and i thought that you are the only true teachers I’ve ever met, because i really thought (then at the first time) and think now that you are carrying about people who want to learn English. So, surely i want you to write more and more emails. I think you should write more often if you can and if you want to. Your email to me is always a sign to come on your blog and to find out that there is a new lesson on your website or something else new. I told about you some of my friends and they like you so much, too. I think that if there will be a book it will be great! (maybe there are a lot of mistakes, but anyway..you know what i mean) :)
Thanks for all! You’re the best! Take care!

You guys are awesome!! Most of English native speakers I’ve met in U.S, they don’t really have patience if your English is not good enough, either you don’t understand what they said or you speak too slow. I personally think they’ve been spoiled because they have the privilege not to speak second language. I myself and anyone here are lucky to have you guys as our teacher and friend to lead our English to the next level. Thanks so much!! XD

What I love the most about your programme is that it’s just simple and nutritional :) ‘cuz not so many new words there, we don’t have to listen with a dictionary in hand. We know it takes time and effort to make paragraphs as smooth as each drop of yours, appreciate your guys works so much!! It’s good to know that you’re planning a book, this is huge!! Definitely I will buy a copy once it come out, and recommend it to whoever commends my spoken English! BTW, can I get your autograph on the copy too? LOL & Regards

  44. Anna Says:

    Hey dear!
I’d like to say that I LOVE reading your mails.. I am quite young designer from Ukraine, living in Germany, so can you imagine how relevant for me is good english?? In Ukraine I had a club of foreign languages, where people who wanted to improve their english had a possibility to meet with native speakers. We all had great fun together, and your letter were always a big help for me. Furthermore, I think each second of your mails I send to my friends because there is smth important to share with them! It can be whatever, new slang phrase, motivation letter or just a story about your holidays, you write it in a very easy form which is really interesting to read!

What I wish you both with all my heart is to keep doing it… and doing it more often! I would love to start my day with morning tea and your email :D well, in any case.. I believe that you guys care about what you do: I can see big love to your work through your letters… I bet, your book will be more than interesting.. how many times I tried to read smth on english with an aim to keep the level of it in a high level.. but how is it possible if I face in one sentence 80% of unknown and unused words??? well, I do not think that my english is really so bad, but seeing this I am not willing to read further..

And the last… Success comes when you do what you love and what you want, and you do it with all your heart, does not matter whether you earn money or not..wealth is just a side effect of well-organised work :)

I keep my fingers crossed for you, guys!!!

    With love and best regards,
    Anna

  45. Ania Says:

So I know I should learn more but I still put it away for later. When I read your emails I feel I learn a little so I get feel better. Thank you.
I think your book may be a good idea because you have a very interesting live and you have a talent for writing about it.
    Don’t hesitate to send emails.

But I know that someday I’ll listen all of them and it makes me sad. I want to have as much as possible your great podcasts with casual English. I understand that it’s not so easy to do this job especially without any feedback and reward.
I’ve already added you’re blog in my RSS reader and recommend your podcasts to my friends. And I like to receive e-mails from you because it means I have one more great podcast.
    Thanks,

    Dear Andy,
to be honest ,I love your lessons, like to have your e-mails and read your blog.I think as you are young but educated guys and have traveled to different parts, you have good vision and have things to say and do thing or say things in a way that are likable.I have a suggestion and I think you can also talk or read about “headlines” or good stories of famous newspapers.
wish you the best and hope to hear from you soon again.

  49. Samantha Says:

    Dear Andy,
I really appreciate your lessons sent to me . When I get off work I will check my mailbox everyday and read your new blog sharing your new ideas. That is really great for me! Sometimes I can draw some new things and useful suggestions and all of these are beneficial for my knowledge growing. I hope I can read more and learn more from you.

  50. Lizzy Says:

    Dear Andy,

first of all, I’d like to thank you for the emails and podcasts. I’m enjoying them a lot, especially because they’re good-humoured, and you talk an informal English, something that students doesn’t learn in traditional English Courses.

I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and have just turned 58. When I was twelve, I started to study English at a language school in my city. After four years of studying mainly grammar, I quit. After this first experience, during my whole life, I had tried many other schools and methods, however I had never felt comfortable when I had the chance to talk to a native speaker.

Now that my children are all grown-up, and with the internet and i-pod, kindle, and everything that makes people interested in learning anything easier, I started about six months ago to study English on my own. So, I listen to podcasts, watch tv series and movies without subtitles, read and keep a journal, in order to write a little everyday.

After these period of doing it every single day, for the first time in my life, I can say that I feel now much more comfotable and relaxed with my English skills.

People like you, who put good material on the net, are the main responsible for the increase of self-confidence in the life of those who love English, but after so many years of formal study feel frustrated.

So, thank so much again for helping me, and the others.

    Take care,

    Lizzy

  51. Lizzy Says:

    Andy,

after sending the email, telling how much I’ve learned with the help of you guys, I saw that I made a primary grammar mistake right at the beginning of my text. I wrote “something that students doesn’t learn in traditional courses”, instead of ” something that students don’t learn…”.

It’s absolutely amazing how distraction can undermine the confidence so hardly achieved!

    Thanks,

    Lizzy

Hey guys, I just got ur mail. In the back of my mind the only thing I think of was that hey, it must be something junky. Then I opened up, read it and after that I went out for my boring work. I’ve been listening to your free lesson for quite a while and I try remembering at least one dialogue everyday. Then I Started talking to myself and using every word what I’ve learned from your dialogues. Mostly it took me about 1 hr to do so. But now I’ve already got 30 dialogues of free lesson in my brain, so now I need more and more time to fininish it. U know, I really had tough time to do it at first. But for some reason, I was getting used to it and I felt a bit guilty of putting it off. I know it sounds ridiculous but I can’t live without u guys even for one day to be honest. So it is abviously, u’re doing something absolutely important! Not only spreading good words but spreading your passion. I was inspired by u guys so many times. U guys were picking me right up off the ground when I fell down. Anyway, I’m not sure wheather or not I’m gonna make it. But I wanna tell u guys, hey! I will keep doing this and catching 100 dialogues of your lesson in my brain. Hopely I will be succeeded and I’ll keep u posted. Good luck man. U guys are really somthing.

  56. Luiz Says:

    Hi guys,

Well, i will try to explain how your efforts help me with my (poor) english and other things.
First of all, i have to say i love hear your voices at podcasts (free podcasts – sorry, i didn’t buy VIP lessons yet. In those pods, i can get some new words and slangs, and i can see how they can be used. I like when i see a new e-mail on my postal box from you…then when i try to read, i can get almost all words in it…it’s amazing…i can understand what you say, or what’s your meaning in those e-mails. My whish is that they come with a podcast attached….i will love it!!!
About your writting, it’s a bit longer but you have a great style: clear words, correct writting (twitter include), and interesting subjects that we can all share.
I hope that your book will be a huge success in all world.

  57. Ruby Hyon Says:

    Hi Guys

I happen to come across your website by chance and heard your podcast and the next day purchased the first regular lesson. I like both your voices as they were clear and you guys have a standard American accent. On top of that, I like the wide range of topics and the spontaneous ways you guys write. I have confidence that you will be able to write a book that everyone will enjoy and capture many audiences and be of help to many people. By the way I’m also a VIP member now thanks to your continous email and words of encouragement. I do look forward to your future podcast and books too.

  64. angelica Says:

Hi guys! Your website is nice. Iam learning new words. The podcasts are absolutely awesone. furthermore the blogs too are intersting. Thanks for help to many ppl improving a new language.

  65. Dominique Says:

    Hey!
This is what i honestly think (i hope by the way you’ll read it,as i am the 64th to comment): If you really care about us speaking English accurately one day…I don’t think so. In that case you would have carried on with the free section of your podcasts for those who can’t afford. (Yes i know it’s very cheap bla bla bla…But what do you want, it happens!)
Second thing, even if you care, i don’t know but to be honest, the passive learning by only listenning doesn’t really help, especially with the slowly way you speak. Practice makes perfect, you know the motto. (i really hope i’m not sounding snippy, you’re looking for honest and sincere comment? Here we go!!)
The blog is a very interesting initiative because in addition to improve the listening, the spelling will be improved too. Good for that.
You sound a bit desperate by the way, i don’t know how to express that; Nobody is use to deal with honest people, there is always fear and reluctance in the back of your head when doing things on the internet. So when you say you want trust, or anything like that, the question with me is what is wrong with you? Are you sure you have a happy life, but i eventually had an answer when you said you whant to write a book. So that’s it, let us being honest for the sake of your upcomming book. I think we’re all okay with that.
If you have to blog more often..? You know what? Blog as often as you want, we your great audience we always be there to give back to you, and as honest as possible, because there’s a book coming soon…
    Love u!!!!!!!

  66. Andy Says:

    What’s up guys?

Thanks for all the support. I just got back from Korea and I didn’t have much time to do work but I read all your comments. I will definitely write a book now if I keep seeing this kind of “fan support”. It’s a big commitment and challenge to ACTUALLY write a book but it seems like an interesting challenge. (It’s amazing how easy it is to plan for stuff but then not do it). There is an old saying that says “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”. It means something like having big plans but not actually doing them is a waste of a life. That’s how I understand it anyway.

  67. patrice Says:

very interesting your blog Andy I like it.continuous in the same way,God bless you.

    Hi Guys¡¡
I really love your podcast¡¡ my cellphone is full of them.
I`d really like if you could talk about the english of tv series, for example listening to your podcast have improved my english a lot ,but when I listen to a tv serie like Icarly it becomes a nightmare,I feel the actors talk so fast and mumbles all the time, too many slang and the tv serie “Seinfield”..I can notice it has a more “clear” english..so what do you think?
Thanks for all and keep doing the good work¡¡
    Have a nice day.

    Hey guys,
I’ve just read this post . I would like to tell you that you can deliver a sense of truth through your blogs and e.mails . I don’t know if I can convey what I mean or not . Around 4 years ago , my english teacher introduced your web page and because of limitation on accessing to high speed internet, he gave us the CD included of 50 dawnloaded lessons. I introduced it to my other friends . Everyone who listened to your podcasts, laughed with you and felt like knowing you for years. Since your posts truthfully deliver your viewpoints , in addition of vocabulary and grammer , I’ve learned alot about your culture and … it’s very interesting to know how people all over the world think about a certain thing . Some times I use what you’ve said in your posts in my talks …
Now I’m a member of your VIP and know lots of people around me who are very interested in registering but because of the paypal system which doesn’t accept the payment from our country ( Iran) due to sanctions , they can’t …
Anyway, I love your great job .

    Warmest regards and best wishes,
    Mahtab

Hi nice boys!u r really my best friends however u don’t know it! yes i came here from my email, from your letters,u know why?because the sky’s high(oh kidding!!)
because i love reading your letters i don’t read them once i read them as much as posible till my eyes become tired!i read & read more to understand more.i would tell my mom or my aunt come and sit next to me and i read your letters for them loudly! i enjoy them however they don’t know english very well but i try to make them understand.
i love all about our blog and website!sometimes it is not important to have something new to tell people, sometimes it is enough to remind them some old things that they have forgoten all about it.in this world with such a technology they are alot to say but we don’t understand most of them,we have alot of books in our libraries sometimes but we don’t read them.if i want to know all,i won’t understand anything at last. but if i want to about just one thing then i enjoy from my own knoeledge and try to find some other intersting new things to know!i hope that i help u with my words. i hope u to read them too!thanks best friends of mine!

  79. Marina Says:

    What’s up guys !

I’ve just read your e-mail.It was really great. In fact, I enjoy reading your e-mails every time I get them, even though I don’t have much time for it and usually I don’t reply. I’m one of these people who are afraid of writing e-mails back either because of the fear to make mistakes or of being perceived as an uneducated person with poor vocabulary.I’ve been studying English for 1 year already and can’t say that I’m doing so well. I’ve read the comments in this blog and they’re written so correct and beautiful that I felt a bit embarrassed to write and express my feelings. But I was so touched with your last e-mail and what you’ve written in this blog, that I decided to overcome my embarrassment and respond. I think you’re doing a really great gob, and please keep up doing it.
Thank you very much for being my guide, teacher and friend.

  80. Priscila Says:

I’ve always wanted to learn English for personal reasons, and now I really need to learn it to be able to improve my career.
In Brazil it is very important that people can speak English fluently, most companies ask for. Getting a good job depends on it.
The traditional classes are very boring, but now with you guys, I’m learning more fun.
I’m still in the beginning … but one day, in the future, I intend to communicate in perfect English.
Thaks guys, you are great !!!

  81. cheney Says:

glad to read your blog and all you wrote is amazing, and I also receive your email sometimes ,and I read them completely even evry time.
I’ve leared a lot from your website where I often check out and download some listening metarials sometimes.
now I always listen to you two and I like your talking style. But I think it would be better if you two guys can do some video metarial so that we English learners can imiate your tone and gestures and others as well. But it is a little difficult for you maybe I reckon.and it doesn’t matter.
OK,glad to talk to you ,hope everthing goes well to you guys!
