A Few Things for you Guys…

1.  First of all, a piece of news.  The US police finally found the guys who committed the terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon.  These guys were brothers who were living in the states for 10 years.  The more I think about it, the more horrible I realize it is.  We talked about this in our latest VIP lesson.  I can understand why many people are upset with how the US government is.  But killing innocent people is certainly NOT the answer.  An 8 year old boy died, as did a female Chinese student, as did another innocent white girl.  Even if these terrorists hated the US government, this is obviously unacceptable.  Sadly, it will be a step backwards in world peace.  Why kill innocent people in any situation?  It just creates more hate and more war.  Sickening!  I hope that someday, this type of thing can come to an end.  I read and can understand the comments on my last blog post regarding this topic.  I appreciate everyone who said something there.  I guess I just really don’t understand what these fools were thinking.  They hate the USA.  Ok, fine, but their answer is to kill innocent people?  For what purpose?  This will just cause more hate and more violence in the world.  Not less.  This is definitely a step in the wrong direction.  There are other ways to show disagreement with a government.  If someone thinks the US government is too violent and selfish, is the answer to do the same thing to innocent Americans?  I don’t think so.  I’m afraid to see what will happen now.  If you guys have any thoughts or comments, I’d love to read them.

I agree with you about Boston attack.
We know that politicians and bankers are not GOOD people.
They create tensions and problems. But it’s not a fault of ordinary people. They are innocent. They should not be killed because politicians make such and such decisions.

  3. Sergio Says:

To make the things worse, this regretable incident will trigger more and more dificulties for tourists getting into the USA.

    Hi guys!
I’m the one who suggested you to teach me the phrasal verbs before, remember?
I couldn’t visit here for a while, so I didn’t know about the whole new video things you made.
I watched them just a minute ago and now I must say that you guys are really AMAZING! :)
I’m kind of surprised. You seems like you can read my mind. The videos you made are exactly what I’ve wanted!
It’s unbelievably helpful for me especially the phrasal verb part. I appreciate it so much! keep up the good work please!

And here’s another thing that I want to learn.
It would be helpful if you give me some idea about grammars especially about tense. Sometimes It’s really confusing and I don’t know what they use it for.
For example, here’s a sentence. “many new students have arrived for the new term.” When I read this, I actually have no idea why they say like this, not just say like “many new students arrived for the new term”.
What difference are they trying to make from the second one?
These kinds of questions related in tense are always come up in my mind. So I would like you to teach me those kind of things and maybe you could show us some common conversation spoken in real life using it. Of course It doesn’t need to be typical grammar lesson. It would be enough to just give me some information about which situation do you use it in and what kind of idea you have in your mind when you use it. (because I totally agree with your thinking on grammar)

    I love your new lectures,again :D It’s brilliant!
It’s obvious that it’ll make me speak much better.
Examples are very useful as well. You made them easy to understand.
If you get more contents on it, you can organize them
and after that, more people will notice this amazing website. I believe so.
I really want to say thank you! I’ll keep studying English with you guys:)

  6. Mahrous Hegazy Says:

    The two brothers are criminal

  7. Bo Says:

It’ll be awesome if you guys can invite a female instructor to give a lecture once a while. :)

  8. Hamid Reza Says:

So, USA most of the time crossed the line but I disagree with killing innocent people. I think if anyone disagree with the politics of USA, he or she should find a reasonable way to voice. By killing and spilling the blood of the sinless and innocent people not only they can’t get close to their target but also cause more hate and violence in the world. I am afraid of triggering the WORLD WAR III………………

  9. mojtaba Says:

hi. my guestion is why u think that they had problem with government , maybe they tend to kill some certain people, for example a friend or a master or a neighbor . whats u r information base ? i think if they had problem with government , they just kill one of the officals in that state.

  10. Jane Says:

Mojtaba, i can’t agree with you because killing a politicial is much more difficult than hurting people who don’t hide in armoured car. That’s is a horrible “logic” of that criminals. But it’s still interesting if they gave some comments on this, Andrew, Add?
in Russia the same accdident took place few years ago, in subway. That was horrible, so many people were killed, and i also could be there in that time.

PS thank you Andy and Add for your excellent work!

  11. huda Says:

    hi, guys
i totally agree with you. nowadays i am really pessimist about the world. we hear bad news consistently and these news make me pessimist. i think that greed and selfishness make people cruel, they don’t think other people’s rights…. and i hate this kind of people.
( guys thank you for your effort to make us learn useful things about english, i try to keep on reading your blogs and watching videos and i really like them)

  15. maciek Says:

Killing innocent people for sure is not the way any problems should be solved. It only increases spiral of violence and people who are behind terrorists attacks make themselves look like they are the ones who need to be blamed for the conflict they are involved, even though they did not necessarily start it. Talking about spiral of violence it seems like terrorism, extremism etc. never comes to an end. Take all US interventions in Far East. There were and are so many innocent victims of these interventions, orphans that the only thing they want to do is to avenge the death of their loved ones. Every time innocent people die becasue of terrorist attack we should blame not only the terrorists, we should also ask ourselves what make these people to go so far. Needles to say that because of politics of most powerful governements hundreds, thousands of people die every day not necessarily because of terrorist attacks but becasue of the weapon they sold to countries involved in military conflict, because of the hunger. These are things that to some extent stopped to make any impressions on us compared to terrorist attacks that take place in our “backyard”. It is sad bu it is true.
